Christmas in London this year was really special. An undeniable buzz from Londoners and tourists alike that resonated through the city. I might have missed the obligatory Christmas snap in front of Annabel’s that the whole world seemed to capture (!) but I didn’t fall short on the igloo trend. Set up all over the city, fairy-lit clear domes of cosy heaven that make for an enchanting and unique dining experience.
Originally, I was heading to the Aviary rooftop restaurant as the igloos there look out over the skyline, but late to book and not an unsubstantial minimum spend required in each igloo meant a casual lunch for two was better suited along the River Thames at The Coppa Club. Here, 7 beautiful, autumnal styled igloos at Tower Bridge.
With champagne and an espresso martini in hand, Luce and I kicked off our festive Christmas lunch!
The Coppa Club serves unfussy European food … Think delicious sourdough pizzas and baked courgette fritti, as well some great vegan options like miso aubergine and beetroot burgers. They also have a Veganuary menu this month! Whilst I’m not vegan, I try and eat as many plant-based foods as I can so any restaurant making a real effort to serve tasty vegan dishes is a win in my book.
We were fortunate to have the two other couples dining in our igloo leave just as we arrived, so it ended up being a cute private affair. A few of the igloos were booked out with big groups which I’d suggest is the best option unless you’re happy to have very open conversations with strangers. There is no minimum spend, but you need to order a meal rather than just drinks…
No issues there. The sourdough pizzas are a dream.
A sticky toffee pudding for the sweet tooth (and because it was Christmas after all).
Along with fresh mint teas to warm us from the inside-out.
It’s the perfect way to spend a day or evening with friends. Possibly not the best for a first-date spot only because they can be uncomfortable enough as it is without worrying about strangers listening to your every word! Having said that, it is super romantic under the night sky…
I hope you’ve enjoyed this post! Have you ever dined in an igloo? What did you think?!

Such beautifuly captured moments Carly! My friend took me down to The Coppa Club when I visited London for the first time in Dec 2017, sadly all the igloos were already booked up. It is such a beautiful location with delicious food and definitely still on the list for when I get a chance to go back :)
Thanks Mikaela! I didn’t know it was running back then, so maybe I’m a little later to the game then I thought! I think a lot of people had called and they said fully booked but when they got there, they had a few spaces. At least that was the case with us :) I hope you get a chance to experience it at some point xx
