So the wedding series continues! I was going to do these parts of the wedding in two posts, but then I thought a) I have to (unfortunately) let it end sometime, and b) I want to share as much as I can, as soon as I can, without filling up your inboxes with 10 different wedding series posts!
However, it does mean this is a pretty long picture post, so grab a cuppa and take 5…
I presume you may have read it already – but it did indeed rain (pour it down as the English country side likes to) from just about the time guests started arriving, until it was time to sit down and eat – inside. Far be it from England to take a more opportune moment.
As you can see from the smiles on peoples faces, the rain seem to do nothing but lighten the mood and lift the atmosphere making it exactly the kind of ceremony I had always wanted. It was taken by a registrar and we were actually married on that day, despite it not being held in a church.
I think Emily, our photographer, does an amazing job at disguising the rain but without or without it, nothing could have dampened this day!
The Ceremony
Instead of drinks before the ceremony in this beautiful area above, the guests were escorted by our very helpful groomsmen (and very wet by the end of the hour!) into the marquee where everyone waited until we caught a break in the rain to start the ceremony.
The guys were always meant to be standing with Jack up by the alter but as the ground was so wet and there were steps involved for the girls, we thought best to give them a helping hand!
A quick hug, wish of good luck and the best men/groomsmen came behind the hedges to meet myself and the girls.
J was left in good hands…!
The Reception
Hope you enjoyed the read! Just one more post from the wedding for this series to come!.
I’ll also be doing some wedding Vlogs on my YouTube channel so let me know if there’s anything you want answered!
