New Opening: The London Project

Dubai has opened its doors yet again to another newcomer on the block, except this time, it’s one worth writing about. The London Project has just landed at one of Dubai’s new developments; Bluewater Island, and it’s already the talk of the town. I’ve personally been three times in the last week so that’s saying something! The London Project is a restaurant, bar and social space that has been conceived to integrate a touch of all the London Boroughs together into a harmoniously designed space, attracting both visitors to Dubai and becoming a local favourite for us residents.

They had me at the flower-clad entrance but it doesn’t stop there. The interiors are a mix of botanical indulgence and urban chic styling and finishes, and it’s not just what’s on the outside that counts here.  Whether it’s the specialty coffee brews, the impressive line-up of nut milks or an all-day dining menu that has the perfect balance of naughty and nice, it’s hard to critique.

I’m showing you the best of their breakfast, but don’t be fooled as lunch and dinner are equally as impressive. It’s not an overloaded menu or trying to be so different that it’s alien, but what they do, they do extremely well, all with an impressive yet subtle twist.

The crumpets and almond milk cappuccino are absolute must-haves.

In the upper floor of the duplex, you’ll find a gin garden – “a wild, enchanted English country garden”, as described by head designer Julian Peter Floyd, and a multitude of eclectic interiors and whimsical spaces that make one visit feel completely different to the next. Whether it’s the private 10-seater wooden dining table that is enclosed with its own garden of Eden on a separate balcony, or the terrace that looks out over the enormous wheel of Ain Dubai, it’s a pick’n’mix style set-up that caters for every occasion.

It goes without saying The London Project is Instagram heaven, but you can tell the narrative of the space runs far deeper than creating an Instagrammable wall. It elicits a calming but exciting atmosphere whereby everyone eating and working there is enjoying the moment they’re in.

There is parking underground at Bluewater Island and you’ll find The London Project at the far end, closest to the wheel of Ain Dubai. P.s, yes, they serve alcohol, all times of the day! I hope you enjoy your experience there as much as I have and would love to know what you think if you do go, so drop me a comment on here or message on Instagram.

Any questions please comment below. Would love to hear from you.

Hi Carly, I hope all is well!
I am from YamJam who are the designers that did The London Project and London slide next door.
Would it be ok to use a couple of your photos on our Instagram as you have captured it so well! We will obviously tag you in them (or whatever is your preference) as we haven’t had our photography done yet as its not quite finished to our satisfaction yet haha.

Let me know if that would be ok!

    Our Instagram account is @yamjamcreative
    Thanks a lot.
