Clickbait, I know … but I’m seriously pondering if the answer to this question is a yes after experiencing Al Naseem’s “Lazy Friday” beach-side brunch.
Al Naseem hotel is the newest of Jumeriah’s gems, sitting cosily close to the Burj Al Arab and playing host to one of the nicest white sandy beaches in Dubai. When I say ‘new’ brunch, it’s actually not a super recent launch but I only discovered it myself a few weeks ago when my sister was visiting from the UK. I had strict instructions to find a brunch that fit two specific criteria;
Anyway, safe to say that’s not actually the easiest combo to find here despite most restaurants throwing some kind of Friday extravaganza. Up to this point, the Al Qasr brunch has been my go-to for showing guests the crème de la crème of Dubai Brunches but honestly I think we have a new front runner people!
The lazy Friday brunch is in the Mediterranean-inspired Rockfish restaurant, a chic all-day dining spot at the hotel. Both indoor and outdoor terrace seating is available for those who may want a slightly cooler affair.
Complete with a gin cart, wines and bubbles, they live up to typical brunch offerings but with a dash of sophistication.
Food comes to the table as a sharing-style concept. For starters there is a mix of raw ceviches, beautiful freshly shucked oysters, grilled prawns, vegetarian salads and plenty of it at that!
It’s fair to say you should probably enjoy fish in order to truly relish in the food offering. All the dishes served are flavoursome and presented beautifully.
The pot muscles and grilled prawns with fresh garlic bread were a real highlight in the mains. There is also organic chicken and tenderloin served alongside the indulgent seafood platter. You certainly won’t go hungry!
It was refreshing to have a brunch with all four people present at the table for the duration, as opposed to with buffet-style brunches that tend to be a touch hap-hazard with conversation never flowing as well.
A quick tea and dessert platter to finish off the perfect day before heading to the beach for a sunset walk.
The name “Lazy Friday brunch” couldn’t be more aptly chosen for this one at Al Naseem. No other restaurant in Dubai does the beachside / food combination as well as they do. In my opinion you get the best of both worlds; the fine-dining, luxury experience with excellent food and service but matched with a relaxed atmosphere and enjoyment in the sun. Bravo guys – you are my new number 1 spot!
