A Few Wind Storms Never Hurt Anyone…

If you live in Dubai, you’ll know I’m talking about last week’s little weather blip.

A blip that happened on 1 of the 2 days my girlfriend came out to see me and catch some sunshine!

With almost 365 days of sun here, it was in all fairness, a bit of an unlucky straw … but we pride ourselves on being positive people so with a bottle of rosé and 6 towels in hand, we braved the winds at Nikki Beach!

Nikki Beach in Dubai isn’t like any other beach club here. It has a real sense of Mediterranean sophistication (clearly slotted right in) and there’s not a wall of high-rise towers to look out onto. It’s peaceful, out of the ‘buzz’ and in its own little world. The perfect spot to come when you want a catch up, a touch of relaxation and when the atmosphere gets going – a party vibe too. It also has one of the nicest beaches.

On a sunny day, this is really one of prettiest places to be. Sun beds and a licensed bar in the jacuzzi-filled pool and huge double loungers surrounding it. Admittedly, the blooming clouds detracted a little from this idyllic picture, but you can take my word for it ;).

We managed to get a (very) brief burst of sunshine before retiring to the warmth of the bed and towels for the rest of the day!

A quick check of the weather forecast and we knew full well the sunshine wasn’t burning through any time soon. Prime time for food and vino!

Pizza sushi, a mezze platter and sautéed tiger shrimp. Surprisingly filling and oh, so good! I need to try a few more dishes on my next visit but Nikki beach is looking pretty well favoured for best beach club food!

And FYI, the pizza sushi – a MUST.

Wrapped up from head to toe in Nikki Beach towels, we chatted for hours and made the best of our stormy weather!

I can’t complain, this is a very rare occasion for Dubai after all. I’ll soon be off to Morzine with full snow coverage (fingers crossed) so my body probably needed a little cold weather adjusting anyhow!

See you soon Nikki Beach, hopefully with a ray or two more of sunshine!

You can visit the Nikki Beach website here for more details :)
