“Don’t Forget To Fall In Love With Yourself, First”

These are my wise words for a very mixed-bag day such as Valentines! Whether you’re single or in lurve, you can still use it as an excuse to celebrate life and being happy, as well as making some delicious chocolate chia seed truffles to fill your boots with.

It’s true that you never know when Mr Right is going to pop along, although I feel I must share some friendly words to people who are indeed in relationships today. It is of utmost important to refrain from saying the following words to friends and family who might be on the mellow side of life:

“When you stop looking for someone, they’ll come”.

Just don’t do it.

If I had a penny for every time someone said that to me when I was single, I’d be writing to you from a sun lounger in Barbados. For me, it’s in the top 3 most annoying phrases to hear!

Anyway, moving on to much more yummy things! If you’ve been following my Instagram then you will know I am starting a new, exciting feature series on the blog. Every week, I’m going to be posting pictures of my daily munch, right through from breakfast to snacks, post-workout eats, and dinner. I get a lot of questions about what I eat day-to-day and how to actually eat balanced and healthy whilst still having flexibility and freedom. So hopefully sharing some normal everyday snaps will help to spark up some inspiration for you all.

They won’t be my most professional of photographs but they’re me…and my normal life. So take a look and dive in! If you have any questions and find the “Daily Munch” helpful then please do comment below and let me know!

Breakfast

2 egg omelette with red onion and ham inside, accompanied by tomatoes, avocado and chilli flakes.

Snack am.

This does me most days! Mixed nuts and a few raisins for sweetness.

Lunch

Yesterday was Saturday so of course a weekend day. I like to get out, away from our apartment on the weekends so that when the new week comes – I’m refreshed and ready to get started!

Jack and I went to Nasimi beach for the day and for me this is where balance comes in! We had crudités before lunch and then sat down to a fishy feast! I had a few of the rice rolls (which aren’t the best for you but small amounts are okay!), sashimi, lobster and crab rice wraps, tomato & mozzarella salad, grilled prawns and couscous/aubergine dip, all finished off with a side salad.

It was a pretty big lunch!

Snack PM

Afternoon snack would usually be more than this but because lunch was quite late, I just wasn’t that hungry. We went for a quick 30-minute Cardio workout and I followed it up with some sliced red pepper to keep going till dinner.

Dinner

I had an array of things in the cupboard/fridge so put together some salmon skewers with a pearl barley, edamame and coconut flakes salad topped with tender stem broccoli. Inspired by Jo Pratt’s “In the Mood for Healthy Food” cookbook. I marinaded the salmon in a little teriyaki sauce, honey, mustard, salt and pepper and it was delicious!

My Daily Munch

I hope you enjoyed the first of “My Daily Munch” features! I’m going to be doing these mostly on weekdays – Monday’s (so live on a Tuesday) – as that’s where most people seem to want the help for meal/snack inspiration to bring into work and quick dinners.

Have a wonderful Valentines Day! xxx

Thanks for sharing this, I find it really hard to be good on the weekends as it’s normally all or nothing so nice to see how you can create a bit of balance. I also love the idea of a boiled egg with the crudités, will give that a go!
