Guys and girls, the following feature is written by Jordan Owen, a serious foodie, and vegan herself (although admittedly somewhat of a more ”˜flexible vegan’!). I personally wanted to cover more of what I think are some of the best parts and perks of living in London, and as I spend much of my time in Dubai, I’m not always able to do this. Jordan has a really good understanding of what defines exciting and worthwhile vegan food! Hope you enjoy the read and the discount codes I’ve sorted for you all!
So here goes ”“ the best of the best when it comes to London vegan food delivery services … Take it away Jordan!
Hi lovely foodies! So although I personally love to cook, and have a regular cadence to my homemade weekly meals, I am a massive fan of a food delivery service for an emergency health kick or just a personal treat. It cleans out a neat couple hours of every day by avoiding the necessity to shop or cook, plus it encourages me to stay in rather than go out to a restaurant where the glass of wine is going to have a much stronger pull on my willpower!
I decided to try three of the best vegan food delivery services in London, and review them for you here so you can make your own decision as to whether you’d like to treat yourself to a pre-holiday or healthy eating regime. If your goal is a generally healthier lifestyle, these will give you a boost to starting that change as well as ideas for recipes along the way. If it’s weight loss or a body and mind detox ”“ then again they hit the mark, although my one piece of advice would be to do longer than 3 days to see proper results!
1) Pure Package ”“ Best for Kicking the Sugar Habit
Images from”˜The Balance Diet’ book available on Amazon (The Orion Publishing Group, ©Weidenfeld & Nicolson)
The Pure Package delivery service plays to the luxury consumer, and in every aspect of their service, they look for ways to drive home an exceptional experience that’s like eating out at a restaurant. Before the food has even arrived to your door, you will have already received a reminder and personal contact from the team to let you know what to expect with your package and how best to support yourself through the healthy eating programme. They offer a range of meal plans, from training, to pre-and post-natal, to general healthy eating. There are also tailored calorie options to help you personalise your plans, and I love the fact that their food is sustainably sourced and they never use GM products.
The food itself comes beautifully packaged in a handy waterproof soft black carrier bag, ready-packed with recyclable cutlery and ice packs to keep your food cool whilst it waits out on your doorstep for you to wake up. The meal packaging is also 100% recyclable. You need to leave the bag outside every evening for it to be magically picked up and replaced with another. The menus are printed daily and come with tips on whether to heat the dishes as well as anecdotes about the nutritional benefit of the meal.
I found the Pure Package food divine. To give you an idea of what you get in one day, I’ve pictured here what I unpacked on Day 1.
As you can see, the lunches and dinners are generously portioned, with breakfast on the lighter side. Everything was well balanced and flavoured, and if you’re anything like me you’ll appreciate that nothing comes dry; the sauces are both healthy and prominent! As someone who constantly snacks a lot and has a high sugar diet however, I really missed the little sweet treat at dessert time or in the afternoon. The package guides you back to natural sources of sugar with the snacks being raw fruit and vegetable led. Here’s a peek at my 3 day menu:

2) Detox Kitchen ”“ Best Value for Money & for the Grazer
Get 10% off your package now using the code “LEANLIVING10”. (This is not a referral programme, purely for your benefit :)
The Detox Kitchen definitely knows how to do vegan food. The food is genuinely delicious, colourful and the daily meals are things I wouldn’t normally cook myself, such as homemade falafel and tahini truffles (absolutely divine!!)
The packaging for the meals is a little more basic and not always the easiest for travel into an office if you were to carry individually, but they do deliver the food to you in a handy cardboard box (no plastic which is a big tick) with a handle, so you could take the whole day with you rather than unpacking it first. The programme comes replete with a morning juice, cleansing shot and a probiotic vitamin that is really vital for healthy gut functioning. For taste ”“ they get 10/10.
I believe that the modern diet and lifestyle generally doesn’t enable us to enrich our bodies with the ultimate level of nutrition that would help our bodies to renew and recharge to our optimal potential so I’m a huge fan of the Detox Kitchen. They think beyond just 3 meals a day and snacks, they’re looking to help your digestion after meals (mint tea), to help you kick-start your metabolism when you wake up (ginger shot) and look after your gut health with the chlorella tablets.
The calories on the vegan package are estimated around 1200Kcal so I do tend to supplement the package with a few extra bits (my metabolism is incredibly quick so 1200Kcal isn’t enough to keep me going!), however, you honestly can’t believe how low they’ve managed to get the calories and yet still send you decent sized meals. I especially loved the morning juice and my little treats after dinner. Have a look at the 3 day plan below:

3) Spring Green London ”“ Best for Boosting your Skin and Eating
Nutritious Raw Foods
Get £20 off your package now by using the code “LEANLIVING20”. (This is not a referral programme, purely for your benefit :)
The Spring Green London philosophy is all about creating fresh, nutrient-rich meals, which rely heavily on plant-based foods. No wonder then, that their vegan menu is a genuinely lovely surprise. The brain behind Spring Green is Bonnie Stowell, a chef who clearly knows how to pack flavour into healthy food. She uses a mixture of raw and cooked foods for maximum nutrition but they all come with delicious, healthy dressings and protein-rich afternoon snacks. I have definitely become a little addicted to my morning tonic!
Spring Greens focuses on making you feel better on the inside in order to deliver results on the outside, choosing foods that encourage healthy looking skin. I found the delivery of the food really convenient too, it comes in a plain paper bag but all the dishes are in boxed plastic packaging that won’t come apart and leak in your bag!
There’s a wonderfully personal touch to Spring Greens too ”“ getting in touch about your package over email is incredibly easy and they are super helpful and supportive with questions. The variety of the menu and the taste of the food is really wonderful, the pictures don’t even do it justice!
See below what your three days could look like.

July 12, 2018What a brilliant review! I have been thinking about a healthy eating plan so this would solve my problem of what to cook ! Do you have any recommendations for Surrey though as they all seem London based ?
