Okay so Valentine’s Day fan or not … I suspect most of you lovely people are foodie fans! Yes it’s commercial but if it involves getting rich, top quality chocolate, thoughtful beauty supplements and cheeses to make your Tuesday night a delicious guilt-free indulgence then I’m all for it, and I think you should be too!
I have hand-picked 8 of my favourite foodie inspired gifts that I think make for a really thoughtful and welcomed present! You don’t need to spend a lot to put a smile on someone’s face, and finding something that isn’t ‘the norm’ is (I think) the best way to do this kind of holiday.
Only 6 months old, Love Cocoa is getting everyone talking! With combinations like Gin & Tonic, Honeycomb, English Mint and Earl Grey Milk; it’s safe to say these bars taste like heaven and offer something unique. Made in Great Britain and founded by a member of the Cadbury ancestry, you already know these chocolate bars will be fabulous! They are going to start doing personalisation soon and you can also buy them in Fortnum & Mason.

2. The Good Guru Co.
These guys have you covered when it comes to anything to do with health and fitness … it’s a one-stop shop to protein powder (including vegan ones), beauty supplements, protein oats and more.
These three were particular favourites as it’s something I’m always looking to boost / help and there’s very few products out there that actually address bad sleep or low energy levels, as well as care for your hair and nails.

3. Skinny Champagne!
I was sceptical at first, because to me anything ‘skinny’ or ‘low-fat’ just spells artificial or sugar-pumped but this is a real anomaly and the best creation! Totalling just 275 calories for the WHOLE bottle, it has the same amount of calories as just one large glass of red vino and I promise you – you would never taste the difference. From my short course in champagne manufacturing, what they do here is simply not add the sugar at the end of the process like almost every other champagne brand does. It is made in the village where Dom Perignon invented champagne and has a stunning taste. Perfect for a guilt-free celebratory evening!
PS. I would advise careful phrasing whilst giving a bottle of this to friends or partners, so they don’t think you’re implying for them to cut the calories!

4) The True Honey Co
It’s gifts like these that I would love to get on Valentine’s Day morning (very much hoping Jack will read this blog in time!). Honey is something I put on my breakfast many days a week, I have it along with ginger and lemon tea, as a snack with greek yoghurt, drizzled over banana slices and crackers, and most other things! So, to go a step above the norm and actually have honey that has immune-boosting and ‘superfood’ properties is ideal. I know Valentine’s isn’t about giving healthy products per se, but if my fellow foodies are like me, it’s these items we may not buy for ourselves all the time and are such a treat to have in the kitchen.

5) Vera Wang Champagne Flutes
I saw these on Amara and fell a little bit in love. This may sound odd but I swear what I drink out of is just as important as what’s in it … to me, there’t nothing nicer than fine-glass flutes and wine glasses that have a little different to them. It’s one of things I asked for as a wedding present and the beauty is, despite the investment, they last forever (if you’re careful). The love knot flutes are perfect to give alongside a bottle of champers.

6) Pong Cheeses
Whilst the name may not scream Valentine’s, the heart-shaped creations do. Maybe it’s because I’m a huge cheese lover and think there’s nothing better than sitting down to movie night with a fully decked out cheese board and glass of deep red, but either way you can’t deny what a perfect foodie-Valentine’s day gift this is! This particular Valentine’s inspired cheese box features Neufchatel, Godminster Vintage Cheddar, Coeur du Berry and Godminster Beetroot and Apple Chutney.

7) Aged Sloe & Mulberry Gin
I just adore British born brands and Williams Chase is one of them. They do so many delicious takes on gins and vodkas as well as popcorn, ciders and sours! Although I’m not one for sticking with cocktails all evening, I think creating a batch of unique and yummy cocktails to start a romantic night is thoughtful and makes it that little bit more special.

8) And last but not least, a cookbook that is high on my bucket list! Head Chef at River Cottage, Gill Meller, has brought out an inspired book that encompasses everything we love about natural, wholesome produce with creativity and technique to go with it. The perfect gift for a real foodie!

I hope you find this gift guide useful and that everyone has (partner or not) a happy and love-filled day with family, friends and more.
